A Busy-Busy Weekend

Hello blogging world!


Well, the next few weeks are absolutely packed for me. I have countless rehearsals for Anne of Green Gables, Humpty Dumpty, and Tempest. The latter two both go onstage in the next two weeks, which means tech runs and performances as well.

Because of all of this, my marks are suffering. I know I'll bring them back up once the shows are done, but for now, it looks horrible. I try not to think about it too much, not that anyone really cares how bad I'm doing. > Everyone else is just as busy as I am. Since I have two back-to-back rehearsals tomorrow, I'm supposed to be doing my assignments today. NADA! Will start later, or even do them this evening.

Things are starting to improve in the friendship field. I spoke with Katherine about my lack of social-ness this month, and we've decided to work hard to find some free time to hang out. Though I'll start to see her twice a week for Anne rehearsals, we're working instead of talking. I really miss having her around more often. Same with Sierra. Things are really falling apart there, as more people come-and-go into our circle. I hope we can keep things strong.

Book Update

Current Total: 2 and 1/8

I was in Ottawa over the weekend with my family and friends. I read the first book in the Georgia Nicols series (#6), The Finnish Line by Linda Gerber, Top Ten Uses for an Unworn Prom Dress by Tina Ferraro, and City of Glass by Cassandra Clare (#16). Mum bought Mercy by Jodi Picoult for me, and since it's about a mercy killing, it's definitely appropriate for Valentine's Day. ;)


*Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging was hilarious! A cute teen read, that definitely sparked potential for the future novels. Though some parts were significantly young for me, I didn't mind taking a trip back in time for it. The series was a recommendation from my book club friend Danya, who claimed I was "young and naive" to have not read it yet. I'm really glad I did, and I can't wait to finish up the series. I'll aim for 1-per-month rather than all at once.


*City of Glass by Cassandra Clare. HOLY HELL! I got the ARC (advanced reader copy) in November, and hadn't read it yet. It officially comes out in March, though dates are usually subject to change, and I can see it being pushed into April. I don't want to ruin it for anyone that hasn't read it yet, but let's just say that Jace & Clary are amazing. And, may I say that it rivals Harry Potter? *gasp* Yes, I just said that it might actually be better than the world best-seller. Definitely better than Twilight at least. The action, the plotline, the romance, even the world-messages (you'll know what I mean) are much more enticing than most novels today.


I currently have #25, #29, #15, #11, #5, and #2 at home. Some of them still don't come out until later in the year, so that's rather depressing. Oh well!

I've already decided to through some Canadian ones in as well. I'll peruse through my list of old "Red Maple" novels and see what I can find. If you have any suggestions for next years list, post a comment. I'll start to construct it as the year goes.



Charity & Organization Update

As some of you may remember from my first February post, I'll be starting a weekly update of charities/organizations. Through blogging, I've discovered a world of possibilites for donations of time, money, or items. I would love to share my experiences with others, and have thus compiled a list. Some of these are events, others year long charities, and others are organizations. Some are international, others Canadian, and even some foreign countries. I've discovered most of them off other bloggers advertising for them, or simply Googling charities. The current total is 95, which will last me at least the year. Once again, if you have any suggestions, please post them in the comments. The "advertisements" will start in March, once I have time to compile proper summaries and links.
